How to protect your pond in winter?
Description
How to protect your pond in winter?
Already in autumn, you should think about making the pond resistant to winter and helping it start spring season. A fine-meshed net should be spread over the water as quickly as possible to prevent leaves from falling in and thus prevent additional nutrients from entering the water. You can also install a skimmer to collect dirt from the surface of the tank. If the edge of the pond has been planted with plants, you should remember to trim the tall plants properly before winter so that they do not tilt to the pond under the load of snow. However, reed rushes can only be removed in spring, as they promote gas exchange in a frozen water reservoir.
